our story
how we met
We met on move-in day of our freshman year at Yale and spent our college years in the same friend group. It wasn't until late in our senior year that we started to bond over our mile-long walks to City Climb, the local rock climbing gym. We spent late nights in the Berkeley library and our common rooms, musing about our excitement and trepidation for what the near future would hold, and what we might make of our lives.
In each other, we found both safety and adventure, a shared purpose in serving the world while holding close to us the people and places that loved and shaped us. At the time, Sachith had already accepted an offer at Google in San Francisco, and Grace was moving to Baltimore to start her graduate studies in public health. We started and would spend the majority of our relationship living on opposite sides of the country (and for one year, the world!). We cherished the time we spent together in person and learned, for multiple airports, the latest time we could arrive to still catch the flight (for Sachith, apparently, always 5 minutes after boarding begins).
We've never believed in soulmates, but we certainly now know how two people can grow up together, intertwine their lives and dreams, and aspire to shape each other into the versions of themselves that their childhood selves would be proud of. We are so grateful to celebrate our love alongside all of you, and we can't wait to see you soon!

A Weekend in the Woods
Everything takes place at Twenty Mile House, and we’ll guide you throughout each day.
5:00PM
Friday, June 05
Baraat Procession
& Sangeet Performances
At 5:00PM, join us for the baraat — a joyful wedding procession where the groom is escorted to the main house by family and friends in a lively celebration of music, dancing, and community. Expect drumming, music, bright colors, and a whole lot of energy as we kick off the wedding festivities in true celebratory spirit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2WATcx_guK0
All are encouraged to join the dancing!

We'll transition from the baraat to the sangeet, an evening of music and dancing that brings families and friends together before the wedding ceremony.
We’ll celebrate under the open sky with performances and some time on the dance floor. It’s a night full of color, rhythm, and joy — our first chance to gather in the woods and celebrate the beginning of this new chapter together! [youtube clip]
Dinner will be served.

Indian attire

What to wear
We warmly invite you to wear Indian formal attire if you’d like to join in the tradition and color of the celebration!
Female attire
Sarees, lehengas, anarkalis, or salwar suits are all beautiful choices. Think vibrant colors, embroidery, and festive details. Don’t be shy about sparkle… weddings are the time for it!
If you've never worn one before, sarees can be difficult to drape and restrictive to wear. If opting for a saree, we recommend you purchase one that is pre-stitched.
Lehengas or anarkalis offer more flexibility.
Male attire
Kurtas with churidars or pajamas are perfect, and sherwanis are welcome for a more formal look.
Where to buy
Some common options for purchasing Indian clothing: Kalki, Lashkaara, Aza Fashions, Pernia's Pop Up, Etsy. Just a note that shipping times may be longer from India, particularly if ordering a custom fit.
If you’re new to Indian wedding attire, feel free to reach out! We’re happy to help guide you.
